Yuka Morii does not draw — she sculpts. Trained at Tokyo Zokei University and the Kuwasawa Design Institute (where she holds a master's in Living Design), she models each Pokémon in polymer clay, builds tiny sets from pebbles, leaves and household objects, then photographs the result, sometimes against real locations. She joined the TCG in 2000 with Omanyte, Kabuto and Caterpie in Neo Discovery, and over 213 cards her models have become so refined that recent pieces are routinely mistaken for 3D renders. In 2023 she ran a clay-model workshop in Japan, and has openly stated that Ditto — which she also illustrated for Pokémon TCG Pocket — is her favourite Pokémon.
