植田亮
Ryo Ueda stepped into the spotlight as the TCG's go-to 3D illustrator following the death of pioneer Keiji Kinebuchi, debuting in 2003 with Chansey ex, Scyther ex and Sneasel ex from EX Ruby & Sapphire. He specialises in the game's heaviest-hitter rarities — Pokémon-ex, Pokémon LV.X and Full Art ex variants — building solid 3D models and dressing them in dramatic lighting, fire trails and lightning effects. During the Sun & Moon and Sword & Shield eras he also handled a stack of the gold-etched Secret Rares. His 3D work is so cleanly stylised that it often passes for 2D illustration at first glance.
