Kagemaru Himeno was already drawing shōjo manga in 1996 when she was pulled into the new Pokémon TCG project, debuting in the Jungle expansion — including the franchise's first three Eeveelutions, Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon. Her watercolour palette favours bright, vivid hues offset by softer tones, and she frequently dusts compositions with tiny white flecks reminiscent of pollen or cotton spores. With more than 600 cards to her name and an openly stated love for her own paintings, she has steadily sharpened her detail-work over the years while keeping the warm, hand-painted feel that first made her style instantly recognisable.
